About the session

Privacy technologies in Monero and MimbleWimble

Bitcoin was originally proposed as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. However, due to the transparency of the ledger, it is possible to track and trace flows of money in the network, and effectively undermine the privacy protections typically associated with cash. A number of alternative cryptocurrencies have since been proposed that address this problem to various degrees. In this talk we take a closer look at two such cryptocurrencies in particular: Monero and MimbleWimble, and the technologies that make them work.
